If A Door Opens, A Journey with Frances Perkins

Charlotte Keefe performs her one-woman play celebrating the life of Frances Perkins, the first woman Cabinet Member and visionary behind the New Deal. Perkins was instrumental in enacting:

  • Minimum Wage Law
  • Forty-Hour Work Week
  • Social Security Act
  • Unemployment Insurance
  • Child Labor Laws
  • National Labor Relations Bill

"Frances Perkins...a fierce advocate who put people first, a public servant who was actually worthy of the name, and a bracing reminder of what inspired government can do."
