Donate to Indiana House Democratic Caucus

Like many other Hoosiers, I am deeply troubled to see the Supreme Court's draft of the Roe v Wade decision and the ramifications it could have to women all over the country. 

Over 88% of Hoosiers think individuals should have the freedom to decide if and when to have children, with a majority of people believing that includes equal access to safe abortion.

Now that we know the leaked documents are authentic, abortion could become illegal in Indiana. House Republicans have previously called for a special session if Roe v Wade gets overturned.

"Altogether in both chambers, 100 Republican lawmakers, including the Republican leaders of both chambers, signed onto the letter asking for lawmakers to return to the Statehouse if a court ruling expands "Indiana's ability to protect unborn children." 

Abortion rights are going to come down to the states.

House Democrats will remain vigilant as we await the final decision from the Court as Republicans urge the Governor for a special session.
