Introduction

Karina is a social worker who was motivated to public service after seeing the devastation caused by the Rauner administration's budget cuts to schools and communities. She won her House seat in 2018, and was elected to her IL-25 Senate seat in 2020.


Priorities

Karina's service in the House and Senate has been marked by sponsoring bills to improve mental health, education, labor rights, the environment, and public health.


She has delivered for workers and families with middle-class tax relief, affordable housing, and better healthcare.


Comptroller

As comptroller, Karina will expand on her previous balanced budget efforts by watching and protecting the people's money. She'll be the people's watchdog.
