In 2008, we achieved a historic victory, electing not only our nation’s first African-American president, but also one of the largest Democratic majorities in the history of our great nation. Since the 2010 elections, however, we’ve witnessed what happens when we can’t get our message out and bitter Republican hypocrisy, partisanship and cronyism takes over. For the good of our country, we have to win in 2012.
One of the key factors to our victory in 2008 was the overwhelming energy and excitement among young voters; Democrats garnered the support of 66% of voters ages 18-23, a key segment that turned out to vote in record numbers. In order to achieve such victory again in 2012, we need to re-energize our base, which is why I’m contacting you today.
Here at Indiana High School Democrats, an official member-organization of the Young Democrats of America-High School Caucus, we are working hard to elect Democrats in 2012, but we need your help. Spreading our message across the state takes money and a grassroots base of student supporters, especially those in high school.
Today, I’m asking for your assistance in kick-starting the growth of this organization. Donations of any size are a great help and please spread the word. You can learn more at http://www.inhsdems.org/ or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/INHSDems
