Hi Friends and Family!!
For the past year, I’ve been organizing with IfNotNow - an emergent millennial movement of young American Jews to end our community’s support for the occupation. IfNotNow is grounded in the belief that the liberation of Jews is bound up with other oppressed groups, both in this country and in Israel/Palestine.
It is so easy to feel helpless these days, but IfNotNow has helped me to feel hope. Over the past three weeks, IfNotNow has brought more than 2000 people into the streets under the banner of #JewishResistance. You can see photos from our “Day of Jewish Resistance” in 30 cities here.
Over the next few months, we will continue to build the #JewishResistance by mobilizing locally and across the nation. We want to train hundreds more people as members of IfNotNow, bring thousands more into the streets, and make the connection in our community between the moral bankruptcy of our institutions and the pro-Israel-at-any-cost politics that reigns in the American Jewish establishment.
IfNotNow is an important community for me because together we stand up against not only the occupation, but also racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and more. IfNotNow has become a beautiful community that is not only fighting to make a better world, but also celebrating ourselves, our Judaism, and our work. We have created a vibrant young Jewish community where I feel accepted and nourished.
However, we can’t make any of this happen without the support of our community. I have pledged to raise at least $100 to support this work, and I would greatly appreciate any contribution you can make!
