The Indiana Organizing Project coordinates a mutual aid network to support families in Indiana experiencing ICE detention. IOP is also helping to coordinate a pro bono legal program with licensed attorneys taking on pro bono cases for detained immigrants with interpreters and paralegals recruited through IOP.
The Indiana Organizing Project is also currently running a statewide campaign to "End ICE Detention at Miami Correctional." Currently ~600 ICE detainees are held at Miami Correctional, which is a maximum-security state prison. The state plans to increase this to ~1000 detainees later this year. Two detainees have died (Feb and April, 2026), and the medical neglect is rampant in this facility. Detainees report that this is the worst detention facility that they have experienced.
