Elissa Slotkin for Congress

Goal thermometer

The informal politics club is a group of friends (and friends of friends!) supporting progressive emerging candidates and established candidates breaking new barriers.

There are so many great progressive organizations. We didn't think we needed to create another one. But we do believe if we pool our resources behind a focused set of candidates, together we can make a difference.

We will support 5 candidates in 2018. Our first two are Stacey Abrams and Elissa Slotkin. We’re really excited. We will pick the remaining three candidates in July after the bulk of the primaries have passed.

Elissa Slotkin for the Michigan 8th

Elissa is running for office for the first time. Previously, Elissa was in the CIA, including three tours in Iraq, and worked in national security for President Bush and then President Obama.

Nate Silver of FiveThirtyEight called the Michigan 8th a "great benchmark" for which party will take the House in 2018. And for good reason, as Silver pointed out—the district went for Romney by 3 points and Trump by 7.

Supporting Elissa’s campaign now gives Elissa a much better chance to connect with voters and make sure her message is well understood.

This page currently gives directly to Elissa’s campaign and we'll be setting up future pages for future candidates.
