My name is Isabel Perez, and I am running for SUSD Board Trustee in Area 1 with a deep commitment to ensuring that every student—especially those facing adversity—has access to the support, opportunities, and positive environment they need to succeed.
As a former foster youth who has overcome significant obstacles, I intimately understand the struggles that many of our students face today. My journey began in a chaotic environment, with parents involved in drugs and crime. After dropping out of school and becoming a young mother, I knew I had to make a change, not only for myself but for my son. I earned my diploma through the San Jose Conservation Corps, where I learned invaluable skills that helped me rebuild my life after the devastating loss of my partner. My experiences have made me a passionate advocate for students who are facing similar challenges.
I am running for the SUSD Board of Trustees because I want to ensure that every child, no matter their circumstances, has the resources they need to thrive. I believe in creating equitable opportunities for all students, advocating for policies that promote their well-being, and fostering a school system that prepares them for a bright future.
But I cannot do this alone. This campaign is not just about me—it's about the community we are building together. I need your help to make sure that every student in Area 1 has access to a quality education and the support they deserve.
Your contribution will help us reach more voters, share our message of equity and opportunity, and ensure that our schools truly work for every student. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children and our community.
I would be honored to have your support in this mission. Please consider making a donation today to help us move forward.
Thank you for believing in our students and investing in their success.
