Governors 2020

Governors are often the last wall blocking a toxic legislature's agenda or lending their support to a progressive one.


1) North Carolina is one of eight states with Democratic governors that voted for Donald Trump (R) in 2016. Roy Cooper is running for re-election in a state with Republican legislature. The race is rated 'lean D'.


2) Mike Cooney, Montana's lieutenant governor, is running against a bully who beat up a reporter, Greg Gianforte. The race is rated 'toss-up'.


3) Nicole Galloway, a state auditor, is running in a tougher race ('lean R') in Missouri. Her R opponent is up by <10% in the polls.
