Bergman supports IVF restrictions and a national abortion ban

Bergman on federal abortion ban: "We're not going to talk about that today."

A new video shows Rep. Jack Bergman bumbling about “states' rights" when asked if he supports a federal abortion ban.

He has now claimed multiple times that the federal government should have no role in abortion decisions.

But here are the facts, Jack.

Bergman sponsored H.R. 431, the ‘Life at Conception Act’, which would provide “equal protection under the 14th article of amendment to the Constitution for the right to life of each born and preborn human person.” This would federally restrict IVF and ban abortion. Nationwide. In every state.

He also sponsored H.R. 705, the ‘Heartbeat Protection Act,’ a federal abortion ban that would punish medical providers for up to five years if they perform an abortion after six weeks. Nationwide. In every state.

Bergman and the GOP only support ‘states rights’ when they agree with the oppressive laws they want to enforce nationally.

If the GOP gains power, make no mistake, they will quickly move to make state draconian laws national.

Women in MI01 deserve better. Women in Michigan deserve better. Women across the country deserve better.

But there's good news.

Before this cycle, Rep. Jack Bergman has never faced a second-time challenger, and against Dr. Bob Lorinser, he's in for the fight of his political life.

The last repeat Democratic candidate in MI01 came within half a percentage point of defeating the GOP incumbent.

With your help, Dr. Bob can absolutely can do this. Bergman can be defeated. Dr. Bob is the best candidate with the best opportunity to send Bergman home, wherever that is.
