My name is Jack, and I was 15 when Trump took office for the first time.
In 2017, I went looking for a way to push back against devastating actions from the national government. I got involved with the Young Democrats and in 2021 I was elected the President of the Young Democrats of MA. I spent a lot of my time convincing young people to run for local office across the Commonwealth because I believe they could make a difference in their communities, and because I believed our party needed young leaders to get involved from the ground up to do their part to change the national political environment.
Now in 2025, I’m again looking for ways to push back against what we are seeing at the national level. This year I am running for my own City Council in Somerville, MA because I believe we need leaders committed to building a coalition of young people who will stand against authoritarianism and promote a more just future.
Most people want to see that you can win before supporting and voting for you. It’s perhaps the fundamental barrier young people face, we don’t have a lifetime of people we know to ask for early campaign contributions. So I’m asking for your help. I picked a list of people who’ve supported youth political caucuses in the past, or other grassroots ways to support the Democratic Party, and I am hoping you will take a chance and help me. Can you help me get closer to winning with a donation of $50?
