Amy is currently the Vice Mayor of the City of Alexandria, Virginia and is serving her 2nd term on the Alexandria City Council. Raised in Alexandria, Amy is a graduate of Alexandria's public high school, T.C. Williams High School (ACHS), and is the very first "Lady Titan" to serve as an Alexandria City Councilwoman and now as the Vice Mayor. Amy was also the first mother on Council with the youngest children (pre-school age) upon her first installment on Council. With 3 college degrees from Virginia Tech and George Mason University, Amy is a career educator with extensive experience in public school settings as a classroom teacher, core curriculum team leader, coach, school-improvement plan facilitator, and school-based administrator. Amy continues to serve her hometown of Alexandria by making the right (tough!) decisions for our city as she continues to be a community advocate, non-profit leader, and plays a critical role in her appointments to several city boards and commissions.
As Mayor, Amy Jackson will continue her work on the dais and in the community, emphasizing her mission of supporting all Alexandrians by implementing equitable solutions that improve livability and ensure our city is the best place to live, work, play, and raise a family.
