Jake Johnson grew up as a poor kid in Stewartville, Minnesota, where he could never take food, clothes, or housing for granted. With the support of a strong community and public programs like SNAP and Medicaid, Jake had the chance to work hard, secure a union job, and enter the middle class. For the past 20 years, Jake has been paying it forward as a public school teacher in Rochester, Minnesota, so that the next generation can achieve the American Dream just like he did.
While politicians like Brad Finstad are leading the fight to slash SNAP, Medicaid, and the Department of Education — all to pay for tax breaks for their billionaire donors — Jake is running for Congress to give working families a fair shot at affording their lives in southern Minnesota.
We deserve a representative who shows up and fights for us. That's Jake Johnson.

Jake Johnson has been provisionally-endorsed by the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party in Minnesota, and will be taking on Rep. Brad Finstad (R) in MN-01 in 2026.
