In his first term, Rep. Talarico helped write historic school finance reform legislation that infused Texas schools with $11.6 billion in new education funding. In his second term, Talarico passed major legislation regarding education, health care, and criminal justice reform. He was named one of Texas Monthly's Ten Best Legislators for these accomplishments. This session, Talarico passed legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs through an importation program, put Narcan in every public school to fight fentanyl overdoses, and lower the cost of child care. He has received national attention for his fight against Christian Nationalism.
