Representative James Talarico is a former education non-profit leader and public school teacher elected to serve in the Texas House of Representatives.


He currently serves as one of the youngest members of the Texas Legislature.

Rep. Talarico has authored and passed major legislation in the Texas Legislature, including capping insulin prices at $25, importing cheaper prescription drugs from Canada, equipping schools with Narcan to fight teen fentanyl overdoses, improving the quality and affordability of child care through tax cuts, enacting the first-ever cap on pre-K class sizes, expanding job opportunities for unemployed young adults, and lowering housing costs by removing outdated regulations. He has received national attention for his fight against Christian Nationalism.
