Jamie Mosser

Donate to Jamie Mosser for Kane County

Growing up in Illinois, one of four raised by a single mother, she learned the importance of hard work, the need for responsibility, and the value of a strong family unit. She knew at a young age that she wanted to be an attorney. When she learned that the role of a prosecutor is seeking justice for the community, she knew that was her intended career path.

Jamie and her husband, Jameson, who is also a practicing attorney, have been living in Kane County since 2006. Jamie has strong ties to the Kane County community through volunteer work, board memberships, and leadership roles in her children's activities. Together, they are raising their three children.

Legal Studies

Jamie L. Mosser graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelors of Science in Political Science. She then attended law school at DePaul University College of Law. In 2002,  she received her Juris Doctorate with a Certificate in Criminal Law.

As a Prosecutor

Jamie passed the Bar exams in Louisiana and Illinois. She served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Orleans Parrish District Attorney's Office from 2002 to 2005. Cases ranged from simple possession of illegal drugs to homicide.

In 2005, Jamie moved back to Illinois. After passing the Illinois Bar Exam, she served as a prosecutor for the Kane County State's Attorney's Office. Her skills were used to help prosecute cases for numerous divisions of the Kane County State's Attorney's Office including the Domestic Violence Unit, Felony Unit, the DUI Unit, Drug Rehabilitative Court, and Special Prosecution Unit.

In October 2009, Jamie became the head of the Domestic Violence Unit where she prosecuted cases that ranged from misdemeanors to felony crimes. During her tenure as the head of the DV Unit, she was instrumental in creating the Domestic Violence Diversion Program that held abusers accountable and gave survivors a voice in the prosecution.

Klein & Mosser, LLC

In June of 2015, Jamie transitioned to private practice with her colleague and friend, Kimberley Crum Klein. While in private practice at Klein & Mosser, LLC she handled a variety of cases including family, criminal, real estate, and simple probate.

Private practice gave Jamie the opportunity to do more for the community by providing free or reduced legal services to victims of domestic violence in our community.

Prairie State Legal Services

In January of 2017, Jamie closed her private practice to join the legal team at Prairie State Legal Services. There she continued to help survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault through family law cases, protective order matters, victim advocacy in criminal cases, and Title 9 hearings.

Mosser & Eisenmenger Law, LLC

In January of 2019, Jamie left PSLS to open a firm with her husband, Jameson. The firm handles real estate and business related matters.
