Hi! I’m Jay G. Wegimont, a proud lifelong resident of South Kingstown and your Town Councilmember.

Born and raised in East Matunuck, I’ve dedicated my life to serving our community and working to ensure South Kingstown remains the best place to live, work, and raise a family. Growing up here taught me the importance of hard work, community, and giving back — from attending Matunuck Elementary and volunteering as a firefighter in Snug Harbor to lifeguarding at East Matunuck State Beach. These experiences shaped my deep commitment to public service.

As a Town Councilmember, I’m focused on delivering real results for our families and neighbors. My priorities include ensuring our new high school is built on time and on budget, creating affordable housing so families and seniors can stay in our community, and supporting our local businesses to strengthen our economy. I’m also working to make South Kingstown safer for pedestrians and cyclists, advance sustainability, and establish a homestead tax exemption to ease the financial burden on residents.
