The Democrats of Jefferson County are respectfully asking for your support as we enter this vital General Election season. Much is on the line as we approach November 3rd and we have an opportunity to flip four WV House seats and two County Commission seats. Our stellar field of candidates is toiling especially hard to deliver their message to area voters and we, as Democratic allies, need to ensure they have the resources and ground game to win.
Voters across the political spectrum are angry with the Republican Party in DC, Charleston, and Charles Town. Rather than listening to the concerns of their constituents, Republican incumbents are taking away healthcare, jeopardizing our natural resources (clean air, clean water, and farmland), forcing data centers and industrial solar fields on us, dismantling the public education system, and putting our county, state, and nation into debt.
Will you stand with us and make a financial donation to help elect our 2026 slate? We’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $20,000. The funds will be used to secure a headquarters ($5,000), hire a part-time staff member to coordinate volunteers and help staff the headquarters ($5,000), run a robust digital effort across social media platforms and digital platforms ($5,000), and reach voters with limited text and direct mail pieces to put important voting information directly into their hands ($5,000).
There are several options open to donating, including making a one-time contribution via ActBlue or by check. Please note, we’ve included a SASE for your convenience. Alternatively, you can make a monthly, reoccurring contribution through ActBlue, which assists in ensuring we have the resources available when costs arise. Any amount helps, but please be generous and consider offering what your budget permits.
Our entire Committee’s thanks goes to you for your consideration and commitment. Let’s make sure we send Lucia Valentine (HD-97), Marta Beck (HD-98), Regina Dyer (HD-99), and Jenny Thacker (HD-100) to Charleston and, Lanae Johnson (County Commission), and Mary Margaret Reagan (County Commission) to Charles Town to stand up for our values.
