Rep. Yassamin Ansari is the former Vice Mayor of Phoenix and has served as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 3rd Congressional District since 2025. She is the first Iranian American elected to public office in Arizona and the youngest woman ever elected to the Phoenix City Council. She worked as an advisor in the Executive Office of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, as deputy political director for the Global Climate Action Summit, and as senior policy advisor to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. Her priorities include climate action, reproductive rights, and affordable college. She is a steadfast advocate for a two-state solution and believes the United States has a “critical responsibility” to help broker a solution free from the threat of violence. JDCA endorsed Rep. Ansari in 2024.
