Adrian Boafo (MD-05)

Adrian Boafo is a lifelong Marylander, born to parents who emigrated from Ghana to the US, where they settled in Prince George’s County. After attending the University of Baltimore, Boafo began his career on Capitol Hill where he worked for Rep. Steny Hoyer. At the age of 25, he challenged and beat an incumbent to win a seat on the Bowie City Council, where he served as Mayor Pro Tem and secured millions in funding to replace deteriorating pipes, brought good-paying construction jobs to Prince George’s County, and provided cleaner water. He was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates, where he passed bills on mental health care access and wage theft prevention. Boafo states his foreign policy goals include strengthening the U.S.-Israel alliance and ensuring Israel has the security assistance it needs to defend itself against Hamas and other terrorist threats, while also mobilizing humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilians.
