Roy Cooper served as the 75th governor of North Carolina from 2017 to 2025. Prior to his two terms as governor, he sat in the North Carolina House of Representatives and the State Senate before serving four terms as North Carolina’s Attorney General. Throughout his career, Cooper has prioritized expanding affordable healthcare, increasing funding for public education, and strengthening the middle class. As governor, he secured a historic Medicaid expansion, delivered investments in public schools, and worked to grow North Carolina’s economy while making it more affordable for working families. Cooper has a strong pro-Israel record and a steadfast commitment to combating antisemitism. He rejected efforts to block certain U.S. arms sales to Israel and opposed anti-Israel resolutions. Now, he is running for North Carolina’s open Senate seat and is focused on affordability, opportunity, and protecting democracy. JDCA is proud to endorse Roy Cooper for his candidacy in 2026.
