Ninth-generation Kentuckian Zach Dembo served as a teacher with Teach for America and as a commissioned officer in the JAG Corps. After his service in the armed forces, Dembo became a federal prosecutor at the DOJ where he prosecuted violent criminals. He also served as a policy advisor to Governor Andy Beshear before returning to law and serving as the Assistant United States Attorney in Lexington, KY. Dembo resigned from the DOJ after seeing firsthand its corruption and politicization under the Trump administration. Dembo is running for Congress with a focus on anti-corruption. His campaign also prioritizes ending Trump’s trade wars, strengthening education, reproductive rights and affordability. Dembo is proud of his Jewish heritage and feels his Jewish values helped shape him. He believes that Israel has the right to exist and defend itself, but in supporting Israel, the US should also hold the Israeli government accountable for its actions.
