Marine veteran, attorney, and incumbent Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes is running for re-election. Previously, Fontes held office in the Maricopa County Recorder for four years, enhancing ballot tracking technology and increasing transparency. As Secretary of State, Fontes has prioritized election security by preparing for AI-driven threats and deepfakes, as well as winning in court against the Trump Administration’s demands for Arizonans’ private data. Fontes has stated that antisemitism, extremism, and white-nationalism are a plague on our society…they must be confronted and dismantled. He committed as Secretary of State to ensure every citizen can vote free of harassment, intimidation and threats of violence. His challenger, Republican Arizona State Rep. Alexander Kolodin, led the effort to deny the results of the 2020 election in Arizona.
