Representative Valerie Foushee has been serving her community since her election to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2012, subsequent appointment to the State Senate in 2013, and in Congress since 2022. Prior to entering the State Legislature, Foushee worked in law enforcement and held positions on the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board as well as the Orange County Board of Commissioners. As a state senator, she worked to increase access to healthcare and end the practice of child marriage. She has also stood up to Republicans when they sought to pass bills targeting immigrants, restricting abortion access, and limiting voting rights. In Congress, she has focused on reforming the criminal justice system, addressing climate change, and combating systemic racism. Rep. Foushee is a proven fighter for Democratic values, and we are proud to have endorsed her in 2022 and 2024.
