Oliver Gilbert (FL-24)

Oliver Gilbert was Mayor of Miami, his hometown, for eight years before beginning his service as City Commissioner in 2020. As County Commissioner, Gilbert is focused on leading initiatives that improve rapid transit and create critically needed affordable housing. His priorities include improving affordability by strengthening labor unions and worker protections and fighting against Trump’s tariffs. In Congress, he will prioritize funding work that targets domestic terrorism and antisemitism. Gilbert supports continued U.S. security assistance to Israel with no cuts and no conditions and continued cooperation on missile defense. He also supports humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. Rep. Wilson endorsed Gilbert to succeed her in the primary, in which he beat six other candidates. Gilbert’s Republican opponent, Te Brown, is a self-described “pro-MAGA, pro-Constitution conservative.”
