Governor Kathy Hochul made history in 2021 as the first woman to serve as Governor of New York. Since then, she has steered the state through challenging times while advancing a bold agenda on public safety, economic growth, climate action, and protecting fundamental rights. As governor, Hochul has strengthened New York’s gun safety laws, expanded access to affordable housing, delivered middle-class tax relief, and invested in infrastructure and clean energy to prepare the state for the future. She is also focused on safeguarding reproductive freedom by ensuring New York remains a national haven for reproductive care. Governor Hochul has been a steadfast ally of the Jewish community and a strong voice against antisemitism. She signed a law to strengthen Holocaust education in schools and has consistently condemned antisemitic incidents, working closely with community leaders to ensure Jewish New Yorkers feel safe and supported. Now running for re-election in 2026, Governor Hochul is focused on tackling the affordability crisis, building more housing, advancing clean energy, protecting reproductive rights, and keeping New Yorkers safe. JDCA endorsed Gov. Hochul in 2022 and for her candidacy in 2026.
