
Rep. Chrissy Houlahan was first elected to Congress in 2018. She is a third-generation military veteran and the daughter of a Holocaust survivor. After serving as a captain in the USAFR, she worked as a chemistry teacher and served as president of a nonprofit focused on improving early childhood literacy in underserved communities. Rep. Houlahan is the first woman ever elected to the district and the first Democrat since the Civil War. In Congress, she has focused on veterans' affairs, family policy, education, and the environment. She has been a steadfast advocate for Israel and the Jewish community and has supported efforts in Congress to advance normalization with Israel and Arab countries. JDCA endorsed Rep.
