Micah Lasher (NY-12)

Assembly Member Micah Lasher currently represents the 69th District in the New York State Assembly. Lasher grew up in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, graduating from New York University in 2003 with a degree in sociology. After his early success in progressive politics, he assumed influential policy positions in the offices of Gov. Hochul, former NYC Mayor Bloomberg, and Rep. Nadler. Since becoming an Assembly Member, Lasher has produced legislation on housing discrimination, consumer protection and renewable energy. In his victory speech, he said “it is an enormous point of pride that I will be representing the most Jewish congressional district in the country. I will always stand up for our community with pride.” In a crowded primary with seven other candidates, Lasher secured the party nomination with 39.1% of the vote.
