
Representative George Latimer was elected to Congress in 2024. He previously served as County Executive of Westchester County, on the Rye City Council, and a member of the New York State Senate. As the first Democratic Chair of the County Legislature, Latimer cut property taxes for three consecutive years while passing groundbreaking legislation. He created Westchester’s Human Rights Commission and championed Democratic policy issues such as environmental protections, marriage equality, reproductive freedom, and gun control. He cosponsored the New York Health Act to expand health care coverage. As County Executive, he supported social justice reforms on policing and wage policy and advocated for black maternal health care and investments in affordable housing and transit. Shortly before announcing his candidacy for Congress in 2024, Latimer toured Israel, visited a kibbutz targeted on October 7, and met with President Herzog. In Congress, he is on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. JDCA endorsed Rep. Latimer in 2024.
