Rep. John Mannion (NY-22)

Representative John Mannion is a former AP Biology and Chemistry teacher in local public schools. After 30 years of teaching, he was motivated to run for office to fight for better education policy, including funding for schools. He was elected to the New York State Senate in 2020, where he advocated for Green Chips legislation, a program that helps create more high-paying jobs, provide property tax relief, and pass laws that safeguard reproductive freedom. He has also worked to improve public safety. Rep. Mannion was elected to Congress in 2024, defeating a Republican incumbent. He currently serves on the House Committee on Education & The Workforce and the House Committee on Agriculture. Rep. Mannion believes in the importance of funding programs to combat hate crimes, including antisemitic incidents, and supports the federal government in its efforts to fight domestic terrorism. Mannion believes that the United States should continue to provide military assistance to Israel, per the terms of the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the U.S. and Israel, including funding for Israel’s missile defense systems. JDCA endorsed Rep. Mannion in 2024.
