Kris Mayes is running for reelection as Arizona’s Attorney General. First elected in 2022, Mayes beat her Republican opponent by just 0.01% of the vote – one of the closest races in Arizona’s history. She is the second woman elected as Arizona Attorney General and the second openly LGBTQ+ person elected to statewide office in Arizona. Her key areas of advocacy include defending reproductive rights, addressing the fentanyl crisis, protecting seniors and children, and fighting the climate crisis. Mayes is a staunch advocate for fighting antisemitism and extremism in Arizona. Prior to serving as Attorney General, Mayes was a professor at Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law and chair of the Arizona Corporation Commission.
