Rep. Lucy McBath (GA-07)

Rep. Lucy McBath ran for office for the first time in 2018 after the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Six years prior, she lost her son to gun violence and left her career as a flight attendant to dedicate her life to advocating for gun safety. When she took office in 2019, Rep. McBath prioritized bipartisan solutions to combat gun violence. She has also focused on uplifting small businesses, protecting veterans, and lowering the cost of health care. Rep. McBath introduced a bill to cap insulin costs at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare, which was eventually signed into law by President Biden. She also played a key role in passing Red Flag laws through the Bipartisan Safer Communities Law. Rep. McBath continues to stand with Israel in its defense against Hamas and voted for the national security supplemental to provide military assistance to Israel and humanitarian aid to Gaza. JDCA endorsed Rep. McBath in 2020, 2022, and 2024.
