State Senator Mallory McMorrow is a small business owner and industrial designer who entered the political arena after the 2016 election. She swung a Republican-held state Senate seat by 20 points and helped flip control of the Michigan Senate for the first time in 40 years. In the Michigan Senate, she has strengthened unions, raised wages, repealed the state’s abortion ban, tackled gun violence, and expanded affordable housing. Sen. McMorrow has been a staunch advocate against antisemitism, consistently speaking out against antisemitic attacks on local Jewish institutions, condemning antisemitic attacks on University of Michigan Regents members, and making clear her rejection of violence following the Temple Israel attack.
McMorrow believes that the path to lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians lies in a two-state solution, with a democratic Jewish state of Israel existing safely alongside a democratic Palestinian state. She has called for Hamas to disarm and demonstrate a commitment to a peaceful and democratic Palestinian state.
