Governor Wes Moore has been serving Maryland since 2023, bringing his experience as a combat veteran, anti-poverty activist, and Rhodes Scholar to the State House. As Maryland’s first Black governor, he has delivered on his promise to build a state that leaves no one behind. In his first term, Governor Moore raised teacher pay, invested in Maryland’s public schools, expanded access to affordable healthcare, and advanced bold climate policies to protect the Chesapeake Bay and position Maryland as a leader in clean energy. He has worked to grow economic opportunity by cutting child poverty, supporting small businesses, and expanding workforce training programs that prepare Marylanders for the jobs of the future. Now running for reelection, Governor Moore is focused on tackling the affordability crisis, making housing more accessible, ensuring reproductive freedom, protecting democracy from extremist threats, and continuing to close racial and economic equity gaps across the state. JDCA endorsed Gov. Moore in 2022 and for his candidacy in 2026.
