

Chris Pappas has served as the U.S. representative for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District since 2019. He is now running for Senate in New Hampshire to fill the seat that will be vacated by Jeanne Shaheen. He was the first openly gay man to represent New Hampshire in Congress. Pappas served as a state legislator for two terms from 2002 to 2004 and was then elected treasurer of Hillsborough County. Pappas was also New Hampshire’s Executive Councilor, where he worked to expand Medicaid, invest in renewable energy, and protect funding for Planned Parenthood. Pappas co-owns a family restaurant and has prioritized supporting small businesses throughout his career. Pappas has been a staunch supporter of Jewish values, condemning the October 7 attack and supporting Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas.
