Mary Peltola is running to represent Alaska in the U.S. Senate. Peltola served as the U.S. representative from Alaska’s at-large congressional district from 2022 to 2025 – the first Democrat to represent Alaska in the House of Representatives in 50 years, the first woman to represent Alaska in the House, and the first Alaska Native in Congress. In the House, the Alaska State Legislature, and as a member of the Kuskokwim River Inter-Tribal Fish Commission and the Orutsararmiut Native Council Tribal Court, she served as a consistent advocate for the needs of rural Alaskans and for improving the lives of indigenous communities. Now, she’s running for Senate to put Alaska first. JDCA endorsed former Rep. Peltola in 2022 and 2024.
