Sen. Jack Reed (RI)

Senator Jack Reed has served as the senior United States senator from Rhode Island since 1997 and is a respected leader on defense, economic policy, and healthcare. He played a key role in drafting provisions of the Affordable Care Act and continues to advocate for expanding access to quality, affordable healthcare. He is a strong proponent of clean energy investments to combat the climate crisis and build a more sustainable future for all. A longtime advocate for gun safety, Sen. Reed supports an assault weapons ban, universal background checks, and tighter restrictions on high-capacity magazines and ammunition. He is a steadfast supporter of the U.S.-Israel relationship, opposes the BDS movement, and supports a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He has consistently condemned antisemitism, bigotry, and hate in all forms. JDCA endorsed Sen. Reed in 2020.
