

Rep. McDonald Rivet was elected to Congress in 2024. Rep. McDonald Rivet grew up in a working-class Catholic household and was the first generation in her family to attend college. She served as Executive Director of Michigan Head Start, Chief of Staff for Michigan’s Department of Education, and Vice President of the Skillman Foundation. Elected to the Michigan State Senate in 2022, she was the first Democrat in over a decade and the first woman ever to represent the Great Lakes Bay Region. In Congress, her priorities include supporting working families, lowering costs, protecting abortion rights, and passing common-sense gun violence prevention legislation. Rep.
