

Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon was first elected to Congress in 2018. Prior, she represented neglected children with the Support Center for Child Advocates, served as co-chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Commission on Children at Risk and the Legal Rights of Children Committee, and was a founding board member of the Philadelphia Legal Assistance. A lifelong advocate for children and families, she led the House floor debates on the Equality Act and Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. In Congress, she has continuously supported fully funding aid to Israel and has spoken out against antisemitic incidents. JDCA endorsed Rep. Scanlon in 2018, 2020, 2022, and 2024.
