Amish Shah (AZ-01)

Dr. Amish Shah is an emergency room physician and former State Representative. He was awarded “Legislator of the Year for Protecting Abortion Access” by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2022. His campaign priorities include lowering costs for Arizonans, lowering health care costs, protecting Social Security and Medicare, protecting a woman’s right to choose by codifying Roe v. Wade, and increasing funding for public education. He will face Trump-backed Republican Jay Feely this November. Dr. Shah stated that the rising antisemitism is “morally abhorrent,” and pointed to the need for better Holocaust education in the U.S. He affirmed his "adamant" support of U.S. funding for the Iron Dome and “strongly supports a two-state solution.” JDCA endorsed Shah in 2024, and we are proud to endorse him again.
