Rep. Eric Sorensen (IL-17)

Rep. Eric Sorensen was elected to Congress in 2022. Before his time in Congress, Rep. Sorensen worked as a weatherman for 22 years. He sees it as a service to his community, and that work has helped him build a relationship and high name recognition with his viewers. As a weatherman, Rep. Sorensen has been an especially important voice on climate change in his local community. He began incorporating climate coverage into his meteorology early in his career, long before the practice became mainstream. In addition to climate change, Rep. Sorensen shares our values on a host of key issues, including creating a public option for healthcare, investing in public education, and creating good-paying sustainable jobs. JDCA endorsed Rep. Sorensen in 2022 and 2024.
