

Representative Haley Stevens was born and raised in Oakland County, Michigan. She first ran for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District in 2018 and won – flipping an open seat previously held by the Republican Party. In Congress, Rep. Stevens has been a strong advocate for the manufacturing and auto industries. She helped write the CHIPS and Science Act, which was signed into law in 2022 to help boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing, especially in Michigan. She also wrote legislation to ensure Black-owned businesses have access to the capital, business networks, and supply chains they need to succeed, and was instrumental in passing legislation to ensure every student can access a quality STEM education. During her time in Congress, she has been a strong advocate in combating antisemitism and supporting Israel, including serving as co-chair of the Bipartisan Taskforce for Combating Antisemitism. Prior to serving in Congress, Stevens worked as Chief of Staff on Obama’s auto rescue.
