Shannon Taylor has spent the last 14 years working as Henrico County’s top prosecutor. In this position, Taylor pioneered programs to support victims of human trafficking, created a task force to tackle the opioid epidemic, prosecuted the KKK, and worked alongside law enforcement to go after illegal guns. Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Taylor was one of the first prosecutors in the country to defend the right to access reproductive health care and abortion services. Taylor’s campaign priorities include fighting corruption in Washington, including supporting a congressional stock-trading ban; fighting for quality, affordable healthcare; lowering utility costs; investing in community safety; and lowering taxes. Taylor believes in a two-state solution with a safe and secure Palestinian state and a safe and secure Israel because, as a prosecutor, she has spent her career focused on accountability and protecting innocent people.
