Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Alex Vindman is a 21-year U.S. Army combat veteran who served his country in the military and as a national security expert working for presidents of both parties. At three years old, Vindman and his family came to the U.S. as refugees, fleeing despotism in the Soviet Union. His military service took him from the battlefield, where he received a Purple Heart in Iraq, to the Pentagon and the White House, where he served as the Director of European Affairs for the National Security Council (NSC). Committed to always standing up for what is right, Vindman blew the whistle during Trump’s first administration on Trump’s pressuring of Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy to investigate Hunter Biden, which led to Trump’s 2019 impeachment vote. As a result of his whistleblowing and testimony during the impeachment, Vindman faced retaliation from Trump and administration officials and was ousted from his position in the NSC. Vindman is running for Senate in a special election due to the vacancy left following Marco Rubio’s appointment as Secretary of State. He aims to represent Floridians and fight the corruption and special interests that are driving up costs. Vindman is outspoken about antisemitism, noting that his grandfathers died fighting the Nazis and his father fled communism in part to escape antisemitism. JDCA is proud to endorse him.
