Jeff & Kim's Seed the Vote Fundraiser

Seed the Vote builds the number and power of progressive elected officials while also blocking Trump and the far right from taking power in federal elections. We do this by sending volunteers to battleground states to doorknock and phonebank. Because we know long-term change needs work beyond elections, we send volunteers to support local partner organizations that work year-round to advance social justice issues in working-class communities of color.

Kim and I are asking you to donate to Seed the Vote because we believe they're an effective way to win change. In early September, we spent a weekend doorknocking with them in Nevada. We were inspired by our fellow canvassers, by the dedicated and well-organized staff, and by the conversations we had with dozens of voters. We felt proud to have made a difference and motivated to do more.

This year, Seed the Vote plans to send 3,000 volunteers to doorknock. Because we don't want cost to be a barrier for anyone who wants to canvass, we're raising funds to pay for travel and lodging for volunteers.

After our first trip, we set a goal of raising $3000, enough to send 3 of those 3000 volunteers. And we donated $500 to seed the pot :-)

Now, 6 weeks later, we've gone to Reno 3 more times, raised over $6000, and increased our goal to $8,000 (or maybe $10k!).
