The maximum donation per election cycle is $5,000 per person or $25,000 for PAC's. Donations cannot be accepted directly from labor unions or traditional corporate entities, however common law firm entities such as LLP, LLC, PLLC, PC, etc. can donate.


Law firm entities may donate up to a maximum total of $30,000 per election cycle, as long as each member does not exceed $5000, which includes donations from spouses and minor children of law firm members.


For purposes of donation limits, the primary, any primary runoff, and general election are separate elections, and donation limits are reset for each.

Contribution rules

  1. I am at least eighteen years old.
  2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
  3. I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
  4. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
Please note, to comply with the Texas Judicial Campaign Fairness Act, all donors must provide law firm affiliations and spouse/child information to the campaign. In addition to your donation through ActBlue, you can email the required information to jerry@zimmerer.com. Contributions to the Jerry Zimmerer Campaign are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. State law requires certain political committees to use best efforts to collect and report the full name and address, principal occupation or job title, and full name of employer of individuals whose contributions equal or exceed $50 in a reporting period. Corporate contributions are prohibited. Individual contributions are limited to $5,000 in accordance with Title 15, Texas Election Code, Section 253.155; however, PACs may contribute up to $25,000 and firms may contribute in aggregate up to $30,000 per individual firm.
