I'm Running for Re-election!

Friend –

I’m excited to announce I’m running for re-election for Texas House District 104!

The rights and liberties of everyday Texans remain under attack by extremist Republican policies, and I can’t stand by as they target us. It has been the honor of my life to serve District 104 in the Texas House of Representatives, and I look forward to having the opportunity to represent our community for a fourth term as we advocate for affordable housing, tackle food insecurity, and expand nondiscrimination protections for all Texans.

Join me and let’s continue our fight for a more equitable Texas!

During the 88th Legislative Session, I was honored to be selected by my colleagues to serve in multiple leadership roles in the Texas House of Representatives. I served as Vice Chair of the Texas House LGBTQ Caucus, Whip of the Texas Women’s Health Caucus, and Deputy Whip of the Mexican-American Legislative Caucus. Additionally, I was appointed to serve on the House Committee on Business & Industry and the House Committee on Urban Affairs. In all my roles, I always fight for the values I learned as a lifelong resident of House District 104.

I filed twenty-eight pieces of legislation in the 88th Legislative Session tackling the issues most important to our community. Despite being in the minority, I was able to pass eleven bills out of committee, six on the House Floor, and three policies signed into law that will give poll workers more time to set up polling locations, ensure disabled and health-compromised Texans have access to their ballot, and allow the City of Grand Prairie access to necessary funds to maximize economic benefits of their new cricket stadium.

I’m hopeful to have the chance to serve you for a fourth term to build on our successes, maintain our fight, and continue improving Texas for all its residents, but I cannot do it without your help. Please donate anything you can to our campaign, and make a plan to vote during the March 2024 Democratic Primary and November 2024 General Election.

Todos Unidos,

Jessica
