Lateefah Simon was raised in a deep tradition of activism and organizing. As a young mom, a youth organizer, and someone who herself had been in the juvenile justice system, she decided early on that government wasn’t working for folks who didnt have a voice. Simon led the Young Women's Freedom Center, worked with Vice President Kamala Harris to create the Back on Track Program to combat recidivism for young adults charged with low level offenses, was elected to the Bay Area Rapid Transit Board of Directors, and was appointed to serve on the California State University Board of Trustees.
Lateefah Simon has spent her life fighting for folks who are disenfranchised and forgotten about, and will work to take our shared stories and experiences to the halls of Congress.
