Julia Salazar is running for NY state senate in District 18 (Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Bushwick, Bed Stuy and Cypress Hills) to represent the concerns of working people. As an immigrant, Jewish women of color, feminist, democratic socialist, and union member, Julia has spent her life fighting for social justice. Julia supported herself through Columbia University as a nanny and worked for police accountability and criminal justice reform as a staff organizer for Jews for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ) until beginning her run for office. The Jewish Vote is the C4 sister organization of Jews for Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ), the largest community-based participatory Jewish organization in New York State. For us, voting Jewishly means harnessing the power of the Jewish Resistance to mobilize progressive jewish voters, build grassroots power for the many, not the few, and support the next generation of progressive leaders. Like most New Yorkers, we’re fed up with establishment politicians who are invested in maintaining the status quo in Albany and who refuse to challenge the Trump administration’s treif agenda.
The Jewish Vote is a proud endorser of Julia Salazar for State Senate.
