Rep. Justin J. Pearson is a longtime community organizer and climate justice advocate in his home state of Tennessee.
Before getting into public service, Rep. Pearson co-founded Memphis Community Against Pollution (MCAP), an environmental and climate justice nonprofit that defeated Big Oil and the Byhalia pipeline — a multibillion dollar project that threatened the Memphis Sand aquifer. In a district with the greatest concentration of polluters in Western Tennessee, "F" rated air quality, and above average cancer rates, he has fought fiercely for the clean air, clean water and clean soil his constituents deserve.
As he runs for re-election, he remains committed to holding corporate polluters accountable and confronting the racism underlying climate injustice in his district, in Memphis, and in his state.
